I hope this post will help all my DC parents relax a little when planning for their upcoming photo shoot. Because I know that for lots of clients, the thought of their children waking up “in one of those moods” can cause plenty of anxiety.
You know the mood I’m talking about.
It’s the one where kids don’t feel like walking, but they sure don’t want to be held. The one where the only toy they want to play with is two hours away at grandma’s house in Virginia. I’m talking about the mood where even ice cream cannot get a child excited about anything.
You might think this mood would spell disaster for a photo session. But here’s the thing– I only need a smile once in awhile to get a good shot. And kids can easily be distracted for a small moment with a funny face, or a toss in the air, or a pretty tree.
The Fuller family already knew this secret, because they were not at all fazed by “the mood.” By keeping the session short and action-packed, we were able to get some great images in under 30 minutes.
Thanks Fuller family for being so easy-going and creative! You rocked your session, and I don’t think anyone would have figured out we were battling “the mood”… had I not told anyone… sorry about that!
