Spring is here, and I’m gearing up for a great year of DC weddings. Some people call this time “wedding season,” but don’t let that make you think all weddings are the same. I’ve been photographing them for years, and I still love to see how each couple makes their big day a unique reflection of their own personalities.

Anne and Chris are the first couple to have penguins perched on top of the cake. And check out Anne’s glittering white chucks! (We totally get each other when it comes to shoes)

Their reception was held at the beautiful Madigan’s Waterfront in Virginia. We caught some lovely evening light for portraits, and these two totally rocked it! Chris tried his best to play it cool, but Anne could always bring out a smile. Yep, they’re pretty cute.
