You don’t have to be celebrating a wedding or milestone to get glammed up for a photography session! Maybe you’re like Jasmine and Michael, who simply value photography and want to celebrate a happy marriage.
We picked the new Yards Park in Washington DC for this session, and it might be one of my new favorite spots! Michael kept us laughing through the whole shoot, and I had to include an outtake at the end — just one of the many moments I captured of Jasmine totally cracking up at his jokes.
Thanks for a great session guys!

Erin and David were married on a beautiful fall day at the historic Kent Manor Inn on Kent Island, Maryland. It was nice to get out of Washington DC for a change of scenery. And as you’ll see in the photos below, the scenery was gorgeous!
Erin and David chose a Chesapeake Bay theme for the wedding, which was really special and unique. Little crab and fishing elements were used throughout the decor, and the couple even made a donation to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation in their guests’ honor.
The day was filled with love, Jewish and family traditions, and LOTS of dancing. You could tell that everyone there was enjoying each moment in the company of friends.
It was wonderful sharing your day, Erin and David! Congratulations, and I hope 2012 brings you much happiness!

Earlier this year I had the opportunity to photograph gorgeous bride-to-be Janice at her former High School, Georgtown Visitation in Washington DC.

Hello everyone! Hope you’re having an awesome fall and are quickly recovering from Halloween candy overload (not that I have any experience with that).
FIRST…
With only a few weekends left before Christmas, most slots for holiday photography sessions are already gone! If you’re still hoping to get some photos done in time for greeting cards, send me an email and we’ll get something on the books for you. I have a waiting list for weekend spots (you never know when someone will cancel!), but there are still open slots during the week.
AND NEXT…

I’m excited to announce that one of my photojournalism pieces (featured in the title) was selected by the Women Photojournalists of Washington for their annual juried exhibition! I made this image in Haiti while doing a personal photography project about American nurses volunteering in Haitian hospitals. The nurse featured in the photo is trying to find extra beds for patients during the election riots.
The show opens tonight (Friday, November 4th) at the FotoWeek DC launch party.
There is a fee for the launch party, but you can see the show for free every day for the following two weeks. Please stop by and see the AMAZING work the WPOW ladies of Washington DC have done this year. You can support the organization by bidding on a print during the silent auction tonight and tomorrow.
Have a great weekend everyone!
The summer theme continues with Karyn and Olivia’s gorgeous family session. Mom did an amazing job with wardrobe and props. And how cute is Olivia with her flower headband and “Olivia” book? I love it!
The gardens around the Smithsonian in DC were so green and beautiful that we stayed there for the whole session. The location complemented their style perfectly!
Thanks for such a fun and beautiful photo shoot, Karyn and Olivia!
