FAQ

Here are the answers to a few questions I am asked often. If you don’t see your question answered here, please contact me and I will be happy to help!

  1. How do I book Erin Scott Photography’s services?

It’s easy! After we discuss the kind of coverage you would like, I’ll send you your photography contract. You simply sign it, attach the retainer fee, and send it back to me. Then your date is saved and you are officially booked!

  2. What is your shooting style?

I’m a fun, young, modern photographer. Before entering event/portrait photography, I worked as a newspaper photojournalist. Besides learning some super-stealth shooting techniques, I also learned to look for the story in each photo I made. As your photographer I will draw on my journalistic, story-telling background. I think fun and romantic posed shots are essential, too. Your coverage will include a little of each of these elements.

  3. What should I wear to my photo shoot?

The most important thing is to wear something you feel good in. If you are part of a group shoot, try to stay away from logos and identical outfits. Instead, wear colors and patterns that complement the clothing of the other people in your group. For more inspiration, check out these ideas from a colleague of mine: What to wear.

  4. What kind of albums do you offer?

I offer both digital, magazine-style albums and more traditional matted albums. The gorgeous leather covers come in an array colors and styles. I also have a broad selection of beautiful vegan covers, too!

  5. Do you shoot in film or digital?

    One hundred percent digital.

  6. Do you travel?

Yes! There may be some extra expenses involved, but I enjoy traveling. I can provide you with a custom quote after we discuss your event plans.

  7. How many images will you make at my wedding or portrait session?

Way too many! I take hundreds of photos at weddings and events, and even after I delete the duplicates and the ones of you mid-blink, you will have too many to choose from! For an 8 hour wedding, I usually deliver around 500 pictures. I deliver about 35 final pictures for portrait sessions.

  8. Do the image CD’s include a print release? What does that mean?

I include a printable, PDF release form on every CD so you can print your photos anywhere. The release lets you do pretty much anything with your photos except sell them. I can also recommend great places to have your images printed.
